OCA Mini Talks

Breeders Award Program
Properly bag a fish
Enter a fish in the Extravaganza

At the OCA meeting in April 2009 Kyle May gave the first OCA Mini Talk. OCA Mini Talks aim to explain issues of interest to OCA members in about 5min to 10min. Kyle’s first OCA Mini Talk focused on the OCA Breeder Award Program. We hope that many more OCA Mini Talks will follow!

This page will list the subjects of all OCA Mini Talks, and will allow you to download the associated Power Point presentations. The files are between 1MB and 5MB large, which is no problem for people with broadband internet connections (download takes about 20s on my 1,500kbps connection for a 5MB file), but if you have a dial up connection, you might want to think carefully which presentation you want to download, and be prepared to wait a little while until the download is completed. The files are in ppt format, and the easiest way to view these files is to have Microsoft Power Point installed on your computer. This will allow you to view the files once they have been downloaded. Microsoft Power Point is part to the Microsoft Office Suite, meaning it comes as a standard installation with many computers. You might have it even if you have never used it.

If you don’t have it, you can also use Open Office, which is a completely free alternative. I run Open Office on my laptop, and it works almost exactly the same as the Microsoft Office Suit. I have viewed all Mini Talks using Open Office, and had no problems.

If for some reason this doesn’t work for you, and would like to view one of these presentations, please feel free to send an email to the OCA Webmaster. We can convert the presentation to another format for you or work something else out so you can view it.

Enjoy!
